How shall i go about making my headlights brighter, i have a 95 GSR teg and i dont have alot of money, i was thinking about the silvanias they sell at autozone but i dunno, im not gonna do a JDM conversion so dont mention it, i just want bulb replacements or something similar that will give me brighter low and high beams. any advice would be helpful, thanks in advance.

seriously...i don't know why af even have a search feature?
what does jdm have to do with anything? if you want a brighter light then get hid's or 9005 conversion

Hyper whites and all of those aftermarket bulb have higher wattage, but arent as bright as regular bulbs. I would recomend getting HIDs which will run you from anywhere between $300 - $600. Either HIDs or just getting Foglights at Autozone for $30.

Sylvania Silver Star bulbs will be brighter than your stock/factory bulbs. Plus they are 50 state DOT legal, and since they are stock wattage, they won't burn out prlike most hyperwhites will. I run SilverStars on my Civic.

seriously dude why do you want brighter headlights in a teg? The low beams are alittle dull, but i have been flashed by car over 2 miles away with my high beams on. anyhow my Mom has Sylvania Silver Star bulbs in her 99 caravan. Those headlights plain out sucked stock. The Silver Star bulbs did make some bit of a difference, but its not that great I don't think. Another thing I don't like about the silver star bulbs is how they look, they give everything a blueish tint and i donno, it makes it hard for me to see. I more like the crisp white light of regular bulbs. But I will admit, silver stars do work good.

As I see it, you have two options:
1) If you are intent on them being the brightest things on the road, go HID. The conversion is going to cost you several hundred dollars.
2) If you just want clean, white light, go with a $30 pair of Sylvania bulbs. I am pleased with mine.

Does anybody know how well the Sylvania Cool Blue lights work? Are they better than the Silverstars?

They're brighter than stock bulbs? AND they have the same watage as stock bulbs? Are you sure about that Matt? I dont know those bulbs... but assuming that they use the same concept as regular hyperwhites... thats impossible. Ok, using the same wattage makes it even. But if they are supposed to be white, then there has to be a blue tint in the glass to nutrualize the yellow. But the side effect in doing so, is dimming the light output. Making a hyper white bulb to 85watts barely makes up for it. So how does your bulbs avoid this side effect?

I would reccomend HID if you want bright. Thats what I did.
But are HID's still available guys? I know when I bought mine it was right when HID were supposed to be outlawed unless stock. I'm sure somebody could find a new kit on the illegal tip, but will anybody be able to find a new kit w/o a hookup or connection???

 illegal tip?
you can get hid's off ebay and if you search google, you can find hundreds of sites that still sell hids. not to mention various car forums also. yes, hid's are illegal, but cops don't hassel people about them (not that i've heard). if i had the dough, i would definitely get some hid's (maybe a 5000k kit).

I dunno how they do it Paul, but they do. I can completely without a doubt tell you they ARE infact brighter than my factory OEM bulbs. I can see the road better and further away then before. The glass on them is about the same as PIAA Platnium bulbs in term of color of it. But they are 55/60w for the H4 model, and they are indeed brighter than stock. It would be bad practice for a company as large as Sylvania to make a statement such as "Whitest, brightest and sharpest halogen bulb available" without them performing as such. They don't live that statement down by any means. They light at about a 4100K color tempature rating.
Most hyperwhite bulbs rely on the concept of having a percentage of xenon or krypton gas inside the bulb, but as far as I know, Silver Stars don't use any gas like that inside of them if any. Maybe the gas inside hyperwhites is what kills them out fast. ;) Remember the Hiper Ind. bulbs you sold me way back? They lasted me about 6 months before they blew out. My Optiblue bulbs I had before them were the same (90/100w) rating as the Hipers, and lasted me almost a year and a half when one finally bit the dust.

Interesting. Lets meet up sometime so I can see them in person. How much are they, and where can I buy it at?

Alright. Most any Kragen, Auto Zone and Pep Boys should sell them. They cost about $20 - $25 per bulb.

The White/Blues are brighter and look better than the regular yellow lights..but they're horrible in fog.
So get some fog lights.

OH!!!! I know what you're talking about. I see them hanging on the shelves but I never really thought much about them when I saw the stock wattage. I'd still like to meet up to see how they look on your car.

I don't use em too often. I'm just wondering bout the mixture of the two different lights. How ugly that output could possibly be. What do you think it would look like? You think it will mix well?
