is the k&n fipk just a filter and mas adapter? or is there more to it?
i've had my gst for almost a month now and haven't bought anything for her yet. i'm about to sell my crx and i'm going to start with a new intake. but i don't want to spend $100 for a filter and adapter when i can get an adapter for like $10 and a k&n cone for like $50.

im told that the K&N filter is the only way to go on a DSM , im not sure why but i wont argue. Although i was thinking of going with an APEXi unit, looks nicer and has the same gains as the K&N.

yeah i'm going with the k&n.
but what i want to know is what exactly is included in the k&n fipk? is it just the adapter and filter? or are there other little secret things that i'm missing?

yes, it is just a filter and adapter. I like the shape of the filter it uses, but a generic adapter and round K&N filter wll work as well. Why not save a few bucks... Go for it. ;)

I have the K&N FIPK on my car with a dejontool intake and the difference between stock is night and day as far as response. I totally recommend the K&N. I got mine off of dsmtrader for $65, well worth it. Try to find a used one like I did.

i have my old FIPK sitting in my garage with the cleaner kit and all. i might be missing the front 'L' bracket, not sure, but i'll check it for you and if it's all there i'll give you a VERY fair deal on it. you can pay me thru Pay-Pal or something. oh ya, it is only like 4 months old. I replaced it with a GReddy/Trust Airnix filter.

I have one too.. The only thing that i dont like about it is the snorkel adapater... Kind of like the look of the engine more... From what i heard it flows a little more air too.. But overall.. i like it.. First thing youll notice is the turbo is much louder...and you can here the BOV a little more if that matters to you...

Sorry to hijack your thread, sort of, but I was wondering what everyone thought. FIPK vs injen. Any opinions on which is better?

the fipk is just the filter and adapter. the injen is the intake pipe, filter and adapter with or without bov return.

bump for boostedspyder...
did you ever find out if you still had the brackets for your K&N fipk?
i need a filter. i paid for an injen intake w/filter from dsmtrader, but the asshole never sent it.

What is better, FIPK or injen intake W/ filter? Cause ExtremePSI is selling an intake/filter that looks like a replica of the injen for like $140. That's $20 more than just the K&N filter and you get a whole intake. Good deal????

i would say it depends on how much you want to pay. i started [1st i hacked the dump tube] with just the k&n filter, then got the injen, then got my airinx. with all 3 moves i noticed a power increase for each. i would say to go with the Xpsi because it is a better package deal. just the k&n you get stuck with the factory snorkel. and the Injen is like 200 bucks or something. if you want to upgrade later you always can...
