Carbon Fiber...HELP!!!

hello ppl, i have a dilemma. I found the link for The Photoshop Bible, and i tried to follow the tutorial on carbon fiber, and i got results that were....frankly, UGLY. I think i did everything right, but the "weaves" just dont look right (way 2 big, i think)....The hood is following the tutorial EXACLTY, the 1/4 panel is using a smaller pattern....WHAT is wrong here? I have alos tried using the tutorials pattern, but flipped 90 degrees, and it was horrid looking

scale it down with free transform before putting it in perspective with the car.

I think the carbon fiber pattern is made for pics of resolution 1024 or higher,hence the crappy result you have.

thx guys...i just made a different pattern. i used a 6px by 3px pattern. The gradients over lap a bit, but it looks good.
