In a few of my threads, peolpe have asked where I get the Inspiration from, well, 90% is from Hyper Rev Magazines.
I know they have been mentioned before but they really are great.

Well, those look pretty good as references. I suggest sending a batch of 'em over to Chris for inspirational purposes, too.

Me, I draw inspiration from all sorts of different places. Mostly classic sports racers and drag cars. I also look to modern cars and traditional customs for ideas, and my paint schemes and sense of aesthetics comes from studying design greats like Raymond Loewy and Bill Mitchell.

I even take some inspiration from aircraft, ships, and even nature. Plus there's my natural inclination towards doing things other people don't.

Thanks Steve! Those pics in the magazines look great. I have the Impreza Vol. 28 Issue that I used for the building of my 97 WRC. It had a load of detail photos.

I have a couple Hyper Revs. They are pretty cool. I got some of my Japanese parts for my 1:1 thru dealers listed in Hyper Rev.

Another really good reference is Drift Tengoku magazine.

Drift Tengoku? This could be off topic. But, where can I get a book that has truenos, and performance parts for my SR5?

Where ever you see Option/Option 2 ask if they have Drift tengoku magazines. Option is more drag and power. Drift Tengoku is obvious.

A Trueno Hyper Rev would be an old issue but with the popularity it shouldn't be that hard to track down. You might want to check eBay also. As far as getting parts....search the internet. The success rate of getting stuff through Hyper Rev (especially an old issue) is slim.

There should be no problems getting parts for the AE86 elsewhere.

Whoa Hiroboy, those things cost an arm and a leg to buy!! I've already wanted to have a look, but found that most of the mag is usually just a listing of the parts available for that car.. For those of you living in the Sea-tac region, there's a bookstore downtown (in Chinatown) called Kinokuniya that carries them. And best of all, they don't seal them so you can have a peek! I make that place one of my destinations everytime I am in the area...

clem..

I agree if you get them outside Japan, but if you get them from http://www.news-pub.com (http://www.news-pub.com/) the price is OK

I snagged a couple Hyper Revs from inside Uwajimaya in Seattle. How lucky was I when I found the Nissan Primera one there. That was before they moved into the new building.

They haven't had any Drift Tengoku magazines as of late (I think Dec. was the last issue they had) but they do have stacks and stacks of Option.

It's too bad Uwajimayas doesn't have a bunch of models. It could very well be the Japanese Fred Meyer; "one stop shopping".

Wow! That's quite a collection you got there Steve! Personally I refer to Super Street or Mini Truckin'. I've got a few magazines from overseas, but lately I've been focusing on building trucks because I haven't seen many here on AF (and I've been into mini trucks since before I could drive ).

Here's a late Christmas present for all! This guy has an obsession with late model Supra's and he decided to scan the entire (or most of it at least) issue of Hyper Rev Supra (#29). Enjoy! :evillol:
