my cousin swears that he got to 160 in his 96 spyder non-turbo with no mods!! is this even close to possible??

i heard the horse power for 95-99 GS/RS is only 140 for stock.

:nono: No i dont think that is possible. My top speed is 138 mph and my car (98 gs) is lightly modded.

oh was he talking abt top speed or horse power... i am sorry i got confused... for a top speed no way near 160 on stock non turbo i can bet :)

maby if he is going downhill with a tail wind and his speedo reads very high. But not stock.

Tell him that you want to go for a ride with him and tell him to go 160. Then you can see if it can do it.

if he really did 160 i am sure that there is something wrong with his speedometer or with his speed sensor... my cars speed sensor is fucked so the moment i start my car the speedometer goes to 30miles per hour speed whereas my wont even be moving :D so the bottom line is.. if ur cousine had lied his nose will start to grow long sooner just like some cartoon character or he really needs a speed sensor :)

LOL... Maybe down the side of a mountain..GSTs are speedlimited at 137 i believe... So id assume that the GS is speedlimited lower than that.. maybe 120 at the most.. GSX is the only one thats not speedlimited and still, that will top out at 155 before it just wont go any faster..if im not mistaken...

because they knew a GS would never be able to go fast anyway, so they didn't waste money on the limiter.
