Could someone tell me how the burnout comptetitions are done and how the winner is decided (smoke or traction)?

Usually it's judged on smoke, crowd enjoyment, showmanship, and length of burn...

I'm not sure why ya think traction would come into play, if anything you don't want much. Usually the cars non-driving wheels are blocked up and some people turn on their line lock kits, then just let it rip...

What I meant was since burn-out gives the tires more traction there might be a way to measure it after the burn out.

a short burnout gives racing tires better traction capabilities since it brings them to temp spec...

a super long burnout on street or even competition tires will overheat them and make them lose traction capabilities...not to mention lose chunks out of them

Not for spinning them, help to make killer white smoke clouds. It's a good time! lol

There is a little town in Illinois called wenona. Well every summer they have a little redneck fair called wenona days. On sat they have a car orenented day complete with a burnout contest. I won last year with my one wheel wonder Buick :icon16: :icon16: :icon16:
