1995 Blazer Hard Start

Looking for some help. My 1995 Blazer is very hard to get started. It was not starting at all (cranking but not firing) and I replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter (I was getting hardly no fuel pressure). After that it started good for a day and then service engine light came on, it was hard to start and missing very bad. I then cleaned the wiring harness as a previous poster recommended and that took care of the random misfire. The code was 300 I think, for random misfire. Now it runs good when started but it is hard to start, I have to crank it for a good 3-4 seconds before it will fire. Any advice at all will be greatly appreciated as I am stumped!

If the engine runs well when running, my suggestion is a issue with fuel delivery. The system uses the relay to pressurize the fuel system when the key is cycled. If this system is not operating correctly, the oil pressure will operate the pump, but will require oil pressure to develop before supplying voltage to the pump. Ray

Thanks for your post Ray, I am starting to think it is the fuel injector leaking down, as I have now read a ton of other post. Very similiar symptoms to a couple of other people that ended up replacing this part.

I have a '97 Blazer S-10, sitting at the mechanics as I write! After a tune-up (due to it starting hard) it still had problems starting, or what the dealer said; extended starting. Yeah, thanks. Found out the fuel pump was getting little to no pressure due to the fuel pump module. This is the *first* major problem I've had (bought used in 2002) and I'll be $878.00 poorer this evening.
