$2500: Opinions!

I check out this car a few weeks ago. Back then it was $2100, and it needed to be aligned, needed new brakes, ball joints, and tires. I checked it out today, and it had new tires. Im not sure if it had all of its other problems fixed. Im guessing it would be around 2500..

Looks like my car did this morning before I put it in the garage. Are you planning on buying this car?

well, abn 88 LX which that car appears to be, should go for around 4K depending on mileage.
2500 is reasonable because to fix what you talked about would cost around 3-400 dollars.
Sounds like a deal. Get a mechanic to look at the engine and do a compression test, get a vehicle history report (carfax) and haggle.
good luck and welcome to the wonderful world of going fast!

Its got 144k miles. The SS im keeping. I just want something cheap, and fast i can beat on.. I also noticed theirs a bigger gap between the hood and fender then on the driver side.

Yeah I was noticing that the body looked a little beat up from the pics. The passengers front fender looks a little out of whack at the bottom, like it was either replaced or repaired. That could be why the hood is out of alignment, from not being not fixed properly. I also noticed that the passengers rear quarter below the gas filler door looks odd. I wouldn't pay $2,500 or even $2,100 for it. If you want it, offer him $1,800 and see what he says, but no more then $2,000. It looks like it's at a dealer so he's going to try and make some money out of it. You can probably find a lot better deal from a private seller for $2,500.

Yeah, its east end auto sales (http://www.eastendauto.com BTW; they have a 94 SVT Cobra for sale for 8k) Theirs a few other 5.0's i got my eyes on. Particulary (sp) a 93 Mustang LX Hatch. Its teal green, auto, has pony wheels, and sun roof dont know anything about milage. They wanted 5495 for it. Or a 88 GT with 280K (wow!) miles on it for 2500 with new parts..

Hey, if your gonna beat it to death then dont worry about the body so much. But, if it doesnt ride right because of something messed up then that would be a problem. Its fun having something to beat up on, i used to have a 82' GT, UUGGLLYYYYY body but good drivetrain. Ahhh, i had some fun times in that car... :p

lincolns are for old people. youd have better luck fixing up the SS, even if its "more expensive".
i think alot of people would agree that 2900 in an SS would probably be better than spending it on a lincoln.

Judging by the pic in his sig he already got the Mark VIII. At least you didnt bother with beat up 'Stang. I got my '89 GT in good shape for $2800.
Although, instead of a Lincoln I'd have bought a late '80s Crown Vic.
