hi everyone
I bought a prostart keyless entry with remote start and I tried to install it. It's been cold here in my place this last two weeks so when i was installing it, I only did 4 wires for an hour because i was freezing. I think i did connect the brake wire, driving light wire, ground and valet hood pin. Then I coudn't figure out where to connect the wire that the manual said "connect to the negative side of coil". I know its hard to locate that coil for my car(93 cavalier 2.2 L) so is there anyway I can hook it up inside the car....like the ECM or something? I really need help or maybe a whole step by step that will make my work a little faster. thanks in advance

Yep, your ECM is behind the glove box. It will be either a purple/white or white wire.

thanks for replying that helps because I found a wiring code somewhere and it says its the white wire in the distributor so i guess that's the same you told me that is connected to ecm right?
but here below are more of my questions
1. I found that 93 2.2 cavalier has ignition 1 and ignition 2, so i will connect the yellow wire(from remote start) to ignition 1 wire directly now my question is......do i need to put an external relay when i connect the green wire(labelled 5th relay on remote start manual) to the ignition 2 wire?
2. I found most of the color code for the ignition harness and some for secondary harness now I need to find the wire color of the following:
Rearm output(-)?
Disarm(-)?
Starter kill(-)?
Negative parking lights(-)?
hmmm i guess that about it so far.....thanks in advance

Yes, you need to use another relay
no rearm
no disarm
no starter kill
(-) lights will need to be changed to (+) for the car so another relay is needed.

this might be my last question....where should I connect the wire from the remote module that is labeled to be connected to and "External Trigger Input(-)"?
thanks in advance

Nothing. If you put that wire to ground, the remote start will start or take the ignition over. I never hook those up. That's what the remotes are for.

hi pon or anybody???
My installation wasn't succesfull. I believe i did connected everything good but when I'm programming it, it say it should flash 5 times which means code accepted but it didn't.
here below is the online manual for my prostart:
http://206.47.191.115/assembly.nsf/view-AllPDF/CT3300_ig_en_h120s200v104_000000.pdf/$file/CT-3300_ig_en_h120s200v104_000000.pdf?openelement
for 6 pin main ignition harness--->>>>i connected them all.
for 5 pin secondary harness----->>>>connected them all(tach input was connected to white wire in the ECM.
for 12 pin accesory harness---->>>>I just connected 4 wires:
brown >>>> lock
green >>>> unlock
orange >>> not sure about this but I connected it with the YELLOW wire of 5 pin secondary harness to the parking light wire(12 volts when switch is on.
white >>>> i connected this to where OEM ground wire was, I saw a buch there so I unbolt one of the screw and tied it up and bolted it back with the black ground wire of something.
when it says on the manual "press hoodpin for 4 sec(i did that), the driving light stays on, then I turn the key to "ON", then when the lights shuts I turn the key into OFF,ON, OFF, finally I pressed the lock button twice and there was no blinking goin on. I tried this so many times and still didn't work.
thanks in advance

I tried pasting that link but it didn't work. So, does your keyless entry work?

oooppss sorry my bad. ok here below is the link for the rs
http://206.47.191.115/prostart.nsf/prod-en/CT-3300
if you don't mind doing a little work the pdf installation manual is on the right side of screen just below the remote picture.
the keyless doesn't work at all so i thought i need to program the remote first which I couldn't. any key on the remote doesn't work.
and the hoodpin is for safety thing. so if the hood is open the remote starter is disabled which is pretty safe if someone is working on the engine.
thanks again

ok PON..the remote start is working now. I guess the freakin manual wasn't design to work so people who buy it will have a problem making it work. Yup..I didn't follow the guide saying wait until the parking lights shuts off before moving the ignition back and forth twice. I did move while the lights were on and aswell press the remote lock button while the lights were on and then I saw it flash the way it should be. Well you gave that helped me finish the installation so I owe you one brother. thanks again
the only thing that doesn't work now is the keyless. I did hooked it to lock and unlock wire but the parking light just flash everytime i lock it or unlock it so I will do some more research if I need to add a relay or something

Glad that you got it this far! On the power locks, I would guess that your RS only has (-) outputs for locks when you need (+) pulses for this car. Most of the more inexpensive remote starts are setup for (-) only. You'll need 2 relays to change it. Pretty simple.

hi everyone. i got a prostart combined with an alarm for manual transm. and i wired it. when i try to program the remote, i fails. taking it out of valet is ok but when i flash the hood pin, the manual says the lights are supposed to stay on for 20 sec. in my case they lash twice and stay off? any ideas on what i.m doing wrong? i tried this over and over many time and different combinations. cant get it ot work. any help is appreciated. the wiring is correct though. thanks:banghead:

You sure that you got it into programming correctly? Read the manual again, most RS units for manuals have extra things you need to do to get it to work.

i got it. the book said to press the pin for 4 seconds and then release it. it said to re press it again and then release it and the lights should stay on.
the procedure is right but what they did not say was that after you press and release the first time, you have to re press and release within a fraction of a second the second time.
anything to screw us up so they can force you to go a professional and pay.
thanks anyways.
