either that or use 2000 grit wet and dry paper to smooth the surface down then clear coat it. it will look a lot better after a good clear coat

Just relax and take a breath dude. It's just a model! Is it a metal body or a plastic one?
First off, you have to assess how bad the damage really is. If you think it would be easier to just strip it and start over, do that.
If it's not too serious and only confined to one part of the model, you can sand the area down with 600 or 800 grit and reprime it and then repaint the car.
Between the primer and color, look at the finish to see how smooth it is. That's the point of primer! If you paint over primer that's not perfectly flawless, the color will only make the flaws more obvious.
If all you have is a few specks of dust in the black, knock them down with 1500, and respray the area. Once you're satisfied with the finish, you can clearcoat it if you want.

Hope that helps, but just keep in mind that this is a hobby, and if it's making you flip out, then you're taking it too serious.
