Theft System Fault

Hi,
2001 Aurora 4.0. About 50% of the time, when I start my car I get a message on the DIC - Theft System Fault. I can clear it using the reset button.

Most times, or maybe every time, I see it, I used the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) to get into the car.

Has anyone seen this error? What is the cause?

I've seen the error on my 02 3.5 several times. I hate the theft system in this car. Right now the dang thing won't even start because it thinks there has been an attempted theft.

...even though there hasn't been. Just had the battery out for a while.
