paint drying time

Hey I was just painting the undercarraige of my R34 skyline and was holding it with my hands. I have already sprayed a few coats of TS-50 blue over a coat of primer, the last coat dried for about 4 hrs before I decided to paint the wheel tubs black. Unfortunately I now have a fingerprint on the blue where I was holding it, probably from my sweaty fingers. Also the masking tape has left all scuff marks when I took it off.

Anyhow here are my questions: Should I be waiting for how long to paint after the last blue coat? And should I not be using Tamiya masking tape over the blue coat at all? If so how do I go about it?

Any help would be great :-)

I usually let me bodies dry a minimial of 1 week in a warm room before I touch them.

By the time I'm doing final assembly its about a month, or more depending on how quickly I worked on it.

Am I not waiting long enough for the paint to dry to apply masking tape, which is causing the scuffing appearance?

i think you are definately not leaving the car long enough. i would leave it over night before applying any pressure or tape to the paint. although its dry its still not 100% set hard.
sand down the finger print marks with 2000 grit paper and re spray the area affected. then leave to dry for over 24 hrs

i left my car for about 2 days... then i started detailing it... just touch it, and if it doensn't rub off, touch it harder (on a spot thats inconspicuos, eg: taillight area (since u glue over that anyway))
