Paint Job????

Alright any paint experts out there... I want my car repainted black. Theres nothing wrong with the current paint, its just green. How much would that cost if I took it into the local Pontiac? They do like a bake on thing or something? Not really sure abotu all that... Or my dad's friend could do it. He went to school for car painting. Which route would be better? And what would be the cost of the first? And what kind and how much paint would I need if I wanted my dad's friend to do it?

Btw the interior just got a whole new look. It's mostly black with some lime accents. I also put LEDs in the vent tubes(already had them under the door handles) .. it looks really nice. I'll try and get the car on CarDomain this week. I really like how the interior turned out. But now I'm looking into how to redo the seats? Any suggestions? Seat Covers? New seats? Recover? I love doing things myself just due to the completely custom feel it gives.

well from what i hear any good car painter wil charge you from 5 grand on for a new color. But if you know the person and maybe even help they might charge you say 2 grand to do it (this is including material)

5 grand? are you nuts? Mako does ambassador paint job for 200 bux, but there really crappy jobs... If u were to get it professionaly done, im gonna say 1500-2000

for someone to do the engine bay door jams, everything a different color, thats what your looking at paying. (5grand)

I also had Paint and body classes and I am sure for just a Simple Base Clear BLACK it is no where near 5grand. 3 at the very most. unless it is going to be a flawless job

well thats what im saying. if you want it done right its going to cost you.

I took it into the shop and they said they wouldn't do it.
So I'm planning on doing this myself then. Now what exactly would I need and what would be the steps?
Or could anyone direct me to a good site for this kind of thing?
I really don't like the car being the green color it is with the now black and lime interior.
