ok, I was getting an oil change like 4 months ago until I found out that my cv boots were torn. I since then took it to a mechanic that hooked it up for a good price to do all four inner outter. Since then, i've been having lots of bulky, rough, and very harsh shifting. I figured it was the cold weather coming and the redline mtl (practically brand new fluid) i was using that caused this to happen. I hated driving my car alot since then cus it could not accelerate for sh**. it would practically grind 8 out of 10 times when pushing it to redline and quick shifting with clutch fully pressed in! i've been thinking to replace my tranny fluid but was hesitant to do so because it was still new and the mtl costed alot. I thought it was my transmission goin so even thought of replacing that! last week I was at the point were something has to be done and if it had to cost me than f** it. I started out by replacing my mtl fluid, ran to chevrolet and grabbed 3qt of gm snchromesh ($11 bucks each!) When i got to draining the mtl fluid out there was only half a qt of that stuff left!!! I was like wtf? it turns out that the shop did not top off any fluid that they spilled while doing the cv boots. Anyways I replaced my fluid now and it seems to shift alot better with dramatically less grinding.
My question is, do you guys think that my tranny is messed in anyway or what do you think was damaged during those 4 months of starvation. there was lots of metal shaving in the new mtl that was drained. I figured its from the tons of grinding that happened but let me know whats up. sorry for the long write up but if you're still here, thanks
