About a week ago my F-150 Straight 6 decided not to run right till warmed up. It was 2 days of damp cold weather. It chugged along till it warmed up. It seems to do that in damp wet weather. The check engine light kept coming on and off and then it stuck on. Its a week later and the darn thing is still on. There is nothing wrong that I can see. The truck runs fine now and its colder weather. The book says that it should go off after 3 consecutive warm starts. Well at 20 degrees F I doubt I can get three consecutive warm starts. I was told to unhook the battery and that should re-set it. No luck. Is there a way to get this darn light off without taking it in and paying 25 plus bucks for something so simple?

Take your truck to Autozone and have them read the codes for you. They offer this as a free service. There may actually be a problem you need to be aware of. They can also clear the light after getting the codes read. Hope this helps.
