Just got a 94 SL and I dont want to fork out the cash right now for strapping on a VR4 TT so im just going to do some basic small HP mods. Heres my list of things to do, please give input...
HorsePower
1)K&N Air Intake
2)2.5" Downpipe
3)Exhaust
Looks
1)16" Rims
2)Green Underglow & UnderDash Lighting
I do have one question however. The SL I got came with 4 pipes on the back and it sounds amazing stock. Im wondering what exactly I would need to do for new exhaust because I like having 4 pipes on the back, makes people oogle at it.

If you want to keep the dual pipe, dual exhaust look there's a lot of performance companies that offer dual pipes. But be ready to fork out quite a bit of money for it. And be careful 'cause not all pipes sound good on the SL. Intake is good... headers would be a good thing. You can clean out your airbox for a free mod, just make it less restricted. And don't they come stock with 16' rims?

Yeah. . . . Stocks are 16". Go for 18" Looks a lot better. Wrap em in some low pro's. lol

Well first off, congrats on the new car.
As for your planned mods...they're a good starting point. For HP, intake and exhaust are always the best places to start. You don't nececarily have to get a K&N, I mean they are seen as one of the best but there are soem that are just as productive for alot less than the $170 for the K&N FIPK.
Next, exhaust. I'd start with a cat-back. You like your dual tips and it's no problem keeping them. Don't buy a cat-back from a company, it's a waste of $$$ IMO. Go to an exhaust shop and get estimates on what it would cost to have custom piping (I'd recomend 2.5") run from the cat to a muffler to 2 sets of dual tips. Since you already have this relative setup, they shouldn't have a problem with it.
Next, I'd say a downpipe and testpipe (eliminates the cat). This will kill you on emissions though so beware.
And as one last starter upgrade, I'd say an UNorthodox underdrive pulley or 3SX lightened pulley. I'm going with 3SX since I ahve a stereo and don't want my accesories being underdriven.
For looks, I'd say go with some nice 17" rims and tires. 18's look ok too but bigger than that is iffy. You'll probably want to lower the car to get rid of wheel gap too. Your 3 options there are Eibachs, INtrax or ground controls/ coilovers. The latter lets you adjust height but are alot more expensive. Intrax will give you a little bigger drop than Eibach. The lower you go though, the more ride quality you might sacrifice.
Green underbodies are ok (what I have on my black Stealth :iceslolan ) and inside are ok too. ** Just make it profesional and tasteful. Don't go over board and make it as clean looking as you can and you'll be ok.
Oh, and as one last thing, I'd throw in a window tint.
Good luck.
