I have heard guys talking about tightening their torsion bars on 1500 trucks in order to raise the front end a little. Does any one know if this really works?? How does it affect the ride/ suspension??

Yeah, he's right. It makes the truck ride a good bit rougher than normal. The main reason these things are adjustable is for people to make small adjustments, not maximum ones.

I just wanted to add that i just tightened mine on my Z71 and lifted it an inch. It made up for the factory sag in the ride height, although it did make my ride rougher, I now see a level truck. Very easy job, Very quick.
