A4 Engine swap

I just purchased a pre production 99 s4. Already owned a 97 A4 with a 2.8. 1 dont know if i can title the s for road. 2 dont want the insurance premium of a s4. 3 my a4 is a great car with 207k on the engine. Want to drop the 2.7 in the regular a4 body and put a 1.8t badge on it. Couple of reasons afore mentiuoned and also so no one knows its really a twin turbo 6 instead of a turbo 4. How much modification is going to be involved? Has anyone seen a "kit" for this kind of swap? Also thinking about while the 2.7 is out switching most of it to the german spec stuff. Any suggestions?

well as far as the engine swap, i know the 2.7tt (same block as 30v 2.8 just with a shorter stroke) has the same mounting locations as the 2.8 does. however the intercooler would not fit behind your bumper. you could get an aftermarket bumper (projektzwo, rennsport, reiger, ext.) and cut the inside of your fenders to allow enough air flow.

and the eurospec issue is easly answered. rs4 parts are mostly interchangable with the s4's (bigger k04 turbo, bigger inintercooler, blow off valve, chip ext.)

ok new news, the s4 is straight from germany, was imported cut in half, i got all major components from the entire car. The only thing missing is the back part of the unibody, rear suspension, quattro and all mechanical parts are intact and with the front half. I have the s bumper that was on the import. My biggest concerns are wiring/engine controls. Because the s was from germany there are no emission controls with it, not that i want them. Any suggestions or thoughts would be welcome.
