Any of you agree? It is the greatest Mp3 player out there. Just got the 20 GB for Xmas. I usually don't like Mac proucts, but iPod is an exception.

Honestly, I'll stick to my CD player; iPods are too pricey IMO, and Ive got CD's galore, might as well make use of what I already have.

I see how you'd enjoy your CD player more. There are alot of more beneficiary things to the iPod too. No more hassle carrying CDs on long trips. The iPod also plays CD quality songs, but the iPod is a bit pricey.

I've heard they have (had?) some battery problems ...anyone have this?

Yeah, I heard that too, and it's true. iPod's have had battery problems, such as the battery not lasting as long as they say they do.
The thing to do to fix that your self, is that once you get ur iPod, charge it up all the way. Then, play with it until theres absolutely NO battery at all, it'll tell you. Then recharge the iPod. That way, the iPod's lithium will be properly broken in for the long run. It might be too late for iPod owners who've had it for a while. But for iPod newbees, theres a help full tip.

I've had a few mp3 players, only thing that stopped me from buying an iPod was the fact that my Rio had a battery explode inside it and the 200.00 paper weight now sits because while trying to remove the battery acid a small piece of plastic broke inside of it and now it doesn't work at all. All of that technology and a piece of plastic the size of a crumb breaks it. Now I have a even smaller one that cost 2 times the ammount of the old one and still doesn't sound as good as my cd player.

I don't quite understand what stopped you from getting an iPod. Is it that they're too fragile?

No I didn't get an Ipod because I had already bought another mp3 player before I even spotted the Ipod. So I have (2) Mp3 players, one works, one doesn't, and they both sucked, so I question how good the Ipod could be and whether or not I should invest in another, yes fragile, electronic that I don't need. :p

For those of you that argue that it is too expensive, you are right, but in my opinion the cost is more than justified (I rarely leave home without it). There is certainly something that can be said about having your entire music collection at your fingertips. But something to be aware of is that you don't always have to buy it new. I scored a 10 gig one for $200, refurbished from an authorized reseller. They typically come with a 90 day warranty and I have yet to have a problem with it(over 6 months now). Another thing to consider is that apple is releasing the iPod Mini soon and that is slightly cheaper. In typical Apple fashion the price will probably drop over the next year. I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the $100-150 price range this time next year
