When to use high octane gas

When should i use high octane gas? Should i use it if im just adding a small boost turbocharger or a small boost supercharger?

Whenever you hear knocking.

only use it if you have to.
It will not make more power.
If you have high compression, advanced timing, or forced induction, you might need it to stave off detonation (knocking).
