K20A Question

I have just read an article on the K20A engine in the 2001+ jdm civic/integra type r. It is 2.0L which is the same as the B20, so can't you frankenstien it like the B20 to make an extremely powerful engine? Or will it not work since they are different families? I know you can custom fabricated, but I'd rather not. :sunglasse

the k20a is an extremely powerful engine,
lots of people are trying to get them into 4th gens. i haven't seen it yet, but somones gunna get it soon

Yeah its really hard, I have a k20 sitting in my 4dr. and thats about all i can say, i dont even know where to begin. Since the engine is mounded reverse.
Dont try it,, if youre going to spend all that money on it just get a b18c5 and turbo it. The only reason i got it because i got a totalled rsx for 3500.

Okay you are thinking of the usdm k20 engine. I'm talking about the jdm version in the civic/integra type r. It definately will cost a pretty penny but, it may be worth it. I'll just have to see. Are the b class and k class mateable? Oh yeah, the jdm engine is alot more powerful than the usdm engine. In your face americanos :lol:

b series and k series do not interchange. would be great if they could. or even if the swap was possible. but dont get your hopes up for the swap. look into building up a d or b series. leave the k series to the rsx's and 7th gen civics.

Currently one of the guys here is replacing his 600 kilo drag 3rd gen Civic's CR-VTEC B20/B16 with a K24/K20 Frankenstein motor, so anything is possible. It's having to use the K's box though.

The K series is the way of swaps in the future I'd say.

Anyway, if it'll go into a 3rd gen (with JDM Si bonnet), I'm guessing it will go into a 4th gen.
