Hey everyone. I'm new to this forum but I noticed that there is some talk about the AMV8. I work at the top Aston Martin dealership in the world and I am in charge of AMV8 sales. The car will not be on sale until late '05 into '06. It will be a new 4.3L V8 (not a Jag block) producing 370-400hp. It will have a 50/50 weight distribution for outstanding cornering. We have been compiling a list for potential buyers and we will not be taking deposits on the vehicle until probably a year prior to its launch. There has also been talk of a 500hp GT version, but has not yet been comfirmed.

thanks for the information, but it sucks because I am in the market this spring / summer. I could wait until fall but ther is no way I'm waiting until 2006 and to be on a list for a car. I love the car though.

If you like the car I would suggest putting your name on an AMV8 list at your local dealer. This way you have no obligations in getting the car for the next year or so, you don't have to cough up any money yet, and you will then have the opportunity to keep yourself on the list or back away from it when the time arises. If you don't do so now, there will most likely be a year and a half wait.

Zerbst, do you know when the right hand drive model will be available in the UK?
I heard the UK model will be available as a 2005 model.
I live in Asia and am planning to pre-order one but there is currently no Aston Martin dealer in my country, so I plan to have it imported from the UK. Do you know anyone in Aston Martin UK I could contact? Thanks in advance.

I heard it will be priced around 60,000 pounds in the UK and about $100,000 in the US, can you confirm this?

By the way, the AM305 is simply the most beautiful car I've ever seen! Cheers! :)

Of course it wouldn't be a 500hp GT version but rather a Vantage. ;)

The AMV8 Vantage will go into production during the summer of 2005.

On the waiting list? Awesome.

First off I would recommend joining the Aston Martin Owners Club (www.amoc.org [Worldwide] or www.amoc-na.org [Canada/USA]).

The best Aston Martin forum is run by the AMOC...

Atticus, can you tell us what info is available in the press kit? I'd like to know the factory exterior and interior colors available. And in AMV8 case, can you still bring a paint sample to Aston Martin to be matched? Thanks in advance :)

The press kit that I have is for the AMV8 Vantage Concept since the production car is far from being completed. The press kit contains the usual development photographs and marketing material as well as design drawings, engineering blueprints, and a paint sample. There is also a CD with press release and photographs. It contains no information about exterior or interior colours for the actual production car. Aston Martin still does paint matching but I am not sure of the cost or if this service will be available for the AMV8 Vantage.
