accident

went off the road tonight into a ditch... car was on its side... i'm ok, got the car out and drove it but it ain't runnin so hot...suspension screwed up big time i think.

I don't really know yet it 2:30 in the mornign i just got home and its -20 outside. I'll give it a checkup tomorrow and give some more details...

Believe me i did not want to be out there in that cold or that late, but my parents heat went out ( so damn cold the diesel oil turned into a slushy and couldn't spray throught nozzle of the oil burner!!!) So anyway i had to drive to their house to try and get that heat runnin. I didn't get it going till about 12:00 midnight. I left for my 40 minute drive to my house prolly going a litttle to quick on a back road cuz i really wanted to get home, and lost it on a downhill bend...

hit the ditch doin about 60. passengerside dug in the bottom of the ditch, under carriage grinding along bottomed out on the edge of the ditch/road, and driver side about 6-8 inches off the road. I slid about 50 feet in that position before coming to a stop. engine was still runnin but i shut it off till i could check every thing out.

had a friend come with a truck and pull me out. brakes were weak as hell(probly all the snow and mud packed into the passenger side) got onto the road popped the hood. No oil/antifreeze/gas leaks...thank god. no flat tires etc. so i decided to drive it the rest of the way.

around 45 i got a really bad thumping coming from front passenger side.And a bad shim . tire was flat this morning when i got up so maybe it was low last night. brakes feel fine now so it probably was snow packed into it when i got out. and i'm missing a mud flap.
other than that i'll have to wait till monday to get her up on the lift at work. hopefully nothing a tire and alignment won't fix.

No body damage at all luckily:biggrin: i have no idea how a car can slide in a ditch on it side and not have body damage but it did it.

Anyway i may have lucked out!!! I guess i'll know for sure monday.

army bct? i thought u were joining the a/f, well the other a/f :lol2: .but anyways, ur going to have a blast. i went to school with the army recruits after our boot camp and boy did they have fun. they get their weekends off, pizza parties, train with the females and sleep in the barracks right next to them, u know what happens then at night right? :naughty:

Have u thought about joining the Coast Guard i think it is the best service if u dont want to go over seas. i have been in for a little over a year im already a E-4. if u have any ?s for me just ask i would be glad to help. but hey good luck otherwise boot camp sucks just try thinking it cant last forever and u will be fine

well I filled the tire with air and drove up to albany ( about 60-70 miles) today and back. about halfway there most of my shim just dead stopped. after getting there i knocked a little more ice out of my rim that i couldn;t get earlier and on the trip back she seemed to drive and handle fine...

there is a small amount of body damage i noticed today... the passenger fender is not lineing up with the hood perfectly.

anyway she is going on the lift tomorrow so i wil check everything out for sure then.

this is how to get ur pics on here. first go to post reply. then look to your left and down near the smilies. go 3 more rows down where u see upload images, follow that row to ur right where u see click here and click it. this will open a new window, now go to the one that says photo upload, if the pic is in your pic folder in comp click browse. pick image to be uploaded then click upload/submit. once its done, click process files. after that go to my gallery click on image then copy address of image. then go back to regular post u want pic in and press copy. if u already know how to do this then i will feel like a jack a$$ for trying to help u and u should definately remove that statement b4 another guy waste their time.

by the way i just got home from checking my car out at work... i lifted her up and hosed all the snow/ice/mud from everywhere it was stuck, everything checks out ok. i also adjusted the fender and the hood so they line up again... everything looks pre-ditch... haha. guess i was very lucky.
