I have a '90 Eagle Talon TSI, AWD, Turbo. I recently had my alternator rebuilt. It died shortly after the 3 glowing lights came on the dash. I got the alternator in with a new belt. It ran fine for a few miles and the car died. The lights wouldn't work, no autoseatbelt or locks... nothing. I got under the hood, dinked around with the battery posts, tried to remove the alternator fuse, but it wouldn't come out (is there a trick?). I got back in the car and turned the key... it started right up with everything running nice and bright. The alternator belt was squeeling a little bit, so I tightned it. This time the car was good for about 20 miles and the same thing happened, but this time the battery is completely drained. Anyone have any suggestions as to what might be causing me these problems. The car has 135k miles on and I have had no problems in the nearly 6 years I've owned it. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Micah

I figured it out... it was a short where the battery goes into the alternator....ooops.
