"Duarte estimated about 100 people got away, scattering north on dirt roads through horse farms that lead to major roadways."

Horse farms, lol.

It's like .. OH SHIT, COPS .. through the horse farms everyone! :)

I'd say sorry, but then that would be hollow. I am gonna sound like a biotch here, but oh well...

If people were caught and innocent, then that is too bad. However, for those who are causing serious problems on public roadways this is a wakeup call that sounds somewhat needed...

I am sorry to hear that you were involved in this. I just hope that people understand that street racing is very dangerous, and many innocent lives are lost as a result.

Lol, those damn Nark's always throw a monkey-wrench in
everyone's plans.:finger:

This is exactly why the Portland Police opened up a place to drag on weekends/nights

Florida Police......get your head out of your ass and provide the same!

*WARNING* Some soapbox content may offend.

The following is not directed at anyone in particular, just trying to be constructive here.

With the numbers indicated in the news-link, it wouldn't be so difficult to get something LEGAL and somewhat SAFER going.

Get the relevent authorities on side by approaching them with ... "we intend organising a safe and legal environment where people can race ... " and ask them for support. Every public authority likes being associated with something positive.

You will need the support of:
Police
Emergency Services
DMV (someone to check drivers have roadworthy vehicles)
Whoever can authorise road-use (find a suitable venue where both drivers and spectators will be safe)
A sympathetic legal type (to compile liability disclaimers etc.)

Charge the drivers and spectators a reasonable fee and use that money to reimburse the support people/authorities. Hell, with those numbers someone might even make a buck.

(here comes the soapbox bit)

Now either do it, or else don't whine about being busted - or about how someone else should organise something. There are always alternatives.

My mom is down from Philly visiting and she my girlfriend were in the area and got stopped butthey were let go. ( on the way tp Micasocee Gambling Resort ).

My girflriend drives my other p10 with rims on it so maybe thats why they stopped it.

They scared the hell out of my mom though. My mom says cops were nice after the realized a fifty years old woman was not drag racing ... the saturn in the next lane ...lol

Yea I was out there with my moms I30, but they stopped us cause we were watching! and when the cops came we tried to leave in the backroads and that didnt work.. so we had to stay there in line with all those people and I finally got home at about 6 in the morning, PLUS they lost my license!! So now I have to go get another licnese.. Damn Cops!!! My girl was driving my car, and when the cops stoped her they made her open up the hood they were checkin the car inside and out... I guess they thought she was racing :D

Damn dawg. I really don't like cops in my area. They keep pulling me over for not having my front license plate on. That's BS. There are so many big body frog-eyed Benz's with no front license plate but do you think that rich guy is getting f*cked with. Or how about new corvettes, I haven't even seen a front license plate on those. So they gave you a ticket? How much it gonna be?

That sucks down here we dont have to worry about having a front plate. I didnt get a ticket though, thank god.. But the idiot cop lost my drivers license, so I still need have to go get another one..

What she said.

Don't blame the cops for busting you for doing something illegal.

Ouch, that sucks. that's why I've never gone to the "illegals" in Phoenix, or here in Tucson. I like my car, and license where they are at now, with me. How close is the nearest track?

They had a track here that everyone used to go to then they closed it so every started racing on the streets... and "they" said they were going to build another track but it never happend, so its a bunch of bs
