HELP! 80's Park Ave. turn switch quit working

My neighbors buick and my moms Chevy Celeb.(both mid to late 80's) turn / blinker switch quit working.
The Buick worked yesterday but, not this morning. It works if she manually flips up and down. Both left and right are having the same problem. The weather was not colder than usual(minnesota), around 20.
All fuses were checked and are good. Also, on that same switch are the cruise control, and high beams both of which are in working order. No service engine light on, or "other" panel lights.
The Celebrity- only the left turn switch we have to manually flip up and down. The right one works just fine. Again, no "engine" light comes on.
Can anyone give me advice? Thanks so much in advance!
