Yesterday, I noticed a strong smell of gas/oil coming from my engine. It noticed it while running the heater (it's about 5 degrees outside). My car isn't making any noises, it's not shakey, the engine temp seems to be fine. I don't know if this is a major deal or not. Any suggestions?

No idea. Is it a WRX? Didn't some WRX's have some recall where they went in to the dealership to get a gas smell fixed?

Do a search on Nasioc. There are a LOT of threads about this lately. It could be a blown gasket on your left shortblock (usually related to an up-pipe install), but it's most likely a blown/loosened valve (of sorts) underneath your intake. Again, do a search on nasioc.

Thanks. I took a look at Nasioc and some other sites, and found that this seems to be a common occurence. There was a TSB issued detailing a cold weather fuel smell for the 2002 wrx. At least I know I'm not alone.
