Tornado air-insert

I don't see how they would do much at all, and I really don't see how it can give you 2-3hp and 2-3lbs torque... not that you can even feel that but still, if it does all the things it promises maybe its worth $70

It probably does help intake flow a bit, but its definitely not worth more than $20 in my eyes. I could MAKE one for more than that...

I don’t think it works, due to the increase in gas consumption one would think that the car engineers at Honda or Toyota would have it in there design; but they don’t.

Something to think about….

Buddy has it at church... he put it in his stock intake and said it gives him somewhat better gas mileage. It supposedly takes off about .1 or .2 off your ET? Wouldn't know what that equates to hp... don't criticize the product unless you know from personal or 2nd hand experience.

On another note, how bout that voltage stabilizer thing that AF is advertising? Anybody get their hands on that?

Woops... guess it was a scam afterall. (Probably why AF took it off) Anybody with real experience on the Tornado thing to verify their claims?

just a note man, those tornado things are pretty useless unless you want slightly better MPG. my only personal experience with one was when a buddy of mine put his in his civic, and we spent about a day tearing apart his head looking for one of the blades that broke off.

think about what they do...they spin the air in the intake thus bettering atomization of the air and fuel...good idea right?

well, that would really only work after the fuel and air mix....i mean, air is about as atomized as its going to get and the fuel atomization really depends on the injectors...

the only way to better this is a vortech design like chevy has, actually spiraling the intake valves ( or something like that)

any vortex you gain with the intake system will be broken up by the throttle body and the intake manifold anyway.

i had it, didn't help my gas mileage at all. Also supposedly it could hurt your engine. the reason is because the tornado can block some air going into your intake, and it makes it a smaller hole for air to pass through, thus less air passing through it. I didnt' feel it being any faster and didn't give me better mileage. I think it was just a scam, i read it all over too and it was. About that few hp and torque increase, that's because they resetted the ECU chip and when they put in the tornado, the increased hp and torque numbers were from the ECU being resetted. Similar to the DPS results.

The Grandfather of all front wheel drive sports cars the chevy citation X-11, which i proudly own happens to have one on. And to my experience the tornado does work if you use it on carburated cars. If you ever watch the tv ad they show them being put on to carburated trucks.
