hmm, that means absolutely nothing to me. i know pencils, markers and prisma pencils...but modeling programs, i know nothing.

i really need to get something decent so i can start practicing before i have to start doing it at uni.

weeeel, if you wanna go digital, learning photoshop would be essential, because you can use that program for pretty much anything. if you want to get into 3d modelling, id say shoot for 3ds max. its not cheap, but well worth it and its easier to pick up. alternatives would be lightwave, maya, cinema 4d, etc etc

Computers are awesome. Simdel1 just so you know, you are looking at 1000's of dollars with anyone of those programs. If you are gonna look into that you should take some sort of training because with out it it is absolutly mind baffeling. Theres a good place near Seattle if you are in that area and are interested. tell me if you are, and i'll give you some info.
Anyway, nice stuff. is that a Lexus SC 430? what is it.

hey guys.

its true youre looking at around 5 grands worth of software there, but if youre good you can easily make your money back. professional training is not needed, but is a good thing to have. im selftaught, but sometimes i wish i had someone there to support me when im stuck. believe me when youre trying to perform a specific action and not knowing where the tool is is very frustrating. finding it is even worse!

yes that is supposed to be an s2000. i dunno where the miata came into that, i tried to get it as exact as possible, but for some reason drifted off.

simdel, what part do you live in? im from london :D

ps: here is an update.

Looking nice! I'm gonna get back into 3d modelling soon when I get my new PC and I have a bit more time...I started a couple months ago but kinda got busy and drifted away from it.

i feel you, man. do what you enjoy and the money will follow. the art field is tough. as any 'glamor' job will be. i draw storyboards and am fairly established, but regularly encounter adversity. it is about winning small battles in the overall war scenario. yet the war is never 'won.'
