I pulled into my driveway, opened the hood and saw flames, so I ran inside to get an extinguisher, but by the time I got back out, it had gone out. Sorry I dont keep one in my car. There is no leaking gasket, you guys assumed that too. Whenever you put oil in, there can be some spilling that settles lower on the block. And havent you guys heard of asympathetic vibration? The low and high pressure waves got in such a way that they can get pretty powerful and crack the pipes. I took it to a mechanic and I was right.

Then the both of you are wrong. The "powerful" :rolleyes: pressure waves you're talking about are about 1/10 of a bar - that's not even close to enough to damage an exhaust manifold. It's ridiculous to even suggest that it did. Manifolds crack all the time without magical backpressure waves from a missing muffler :lol: , especially on older cars (and fords in particular, it would seem). And while I remain skeptical about your claims as to the source of the oil, it seems fair enough to say that the root cause was "exceptionally poor maintenance."
