eclipse vs wrx

a friend of mine has a wrx modded slightly claiming 400 hp and he is talking shit... of course it is not going unanswered. however, in my present tuning state i'm a bit worried, so what do all of you think?

If you have 400 too, it'll be down to the driver but I think the wrx is a bit lighter, not sure. If your less than 400, dont even waist your time racing him.

im not sure you have a gst rigth if your doin 1\4 races then i thnk he might have you. especially is you have less mods then he does.

or u can just race him, a nice clean race, and u guys are friends so either if u loose or win u can always have a re match ones u have more mods on ur spyda.

He's only claiming to have 400 hp. If you doubt it... there's one way to find out. Give him a run for his money. You lose, then you lose... no biggie. 400 hp is some serious power. And if he's only claiming a "few" mods... I doubt he's got it. Go ahead and race him.

From what I have heard about the WRX transmissions, I doubt he has 400 hp. ;) Just race. I dont know what you have done to your car, but with just a used 14b, 190 pump, EBC, intake/exhuast, AFC, and 1g BOV you can see what I did to the WRX in the video on my website. ;)

if he is "serious" about this "400 hp" u probably will loose. but hes probably just talking shit, so i say race him....either way u gonna get a great race.

400hp is alot man, If he really does have that then he's dumped alot of money into his ride. My friend has a wrx pushing a little less then 350whp and hes dumped about 8g's in to it. Race'em if you lose you lose and you'll know where you stand. If you beat him he lied.

ya, he only got 6k into it from what he said, and after watching that vid of 95 gsxracer smoke that wrx running a 13 1/2... we are gunna find somewhere this week to go at it...

what mods is he running? im running very close to 400bhp. i dont really know how much i have dumped into hp mods, id guess around $9k though. anyways depending on what he has for mods it aint too difficult to to achieve 400bhp. 400awhp is a much different topic though.

95gxsracer: are you kidding about the tranny thing? yeah wrx manual transmissions are proned to failure, if you rip on them. im sure alot of awd dsm's have the same problem. i know from experience i had a 1g awd and ripped the crap out of it and what happened, bye bye 1, 2, 3 gear synchro's. i havent incurred one problem with my transmission in fact im still on the OE clutch and flywheel. with numerous strip apperences and autocross laps, along with my daily driving.

Good to hear its holding up for you. I got that info from 2 poeple racing WRXs at the track. One had already broken his tranny, not sure exactly what. I dont have any personal experience with it obviously, but they have never been famous for building strong trannies as far as I can tell. With any type of car there are always good ones, and bad ones. I'll take the results of the masses over the results of one car (yours). But again, no personal experience. :)
