91 hb w/ b16

i am about to get a 91 hb with a b16 motor in a couple of weeks for $1800. it only has an iceman cai, skunk 2 coil-overs, si rims, and no cat on it. the guy wants to sell me a type r intake mainfold for an extra $500, but my friend has a 95 gsr with a type r intake manifold. and i don't want him to be talking about i am trying to be like him, so should i get the type r or do ya'll think that i should get a differnt one.

what do you think my first mod should be?
my goal is to get 250 hp.

your friend must have a skunk2 manifold as neither a B18C or B16B intake manifold will bolt onto a B18C1 (GSR) head, the bolt patterns are differnt than B18C/B16B/B16A.

$500 is a little steep for the Type R intake, but i've heard that is an upgrade worth spending 300 or so on.

No doubt.. There's a guy in Ontario selling one for $225cdn. :D

my friend's intake manifold makes this spooling sound when the engine gets up to like 4k rpms. he keeps on saying that it is a type r intake manifold but I never did get to see because he won't show anyone what his engine looks like, especially me since he knows that I am getting a Honda too. He is scared that when I get mine he won't be the fastest one in the group anymore, so he won't show what he's running. I told him that in about 6 months I will be running laps aroung him and his gsr when I get my 91 hatchie. When we finally race I will tape it during the day and post both our engines and the race so that you all can see who has the better car. He has had his car for 2 years and is just now being able to outrun mustang gt's :disappoin . He claims that he is a car person, but I am a car fanatic. I love my car like it was my girl. Just no sex. :iceslolan
