me vs. 98 ex coupe

So yesterday I put in my new KYB GR2's that I ordered and today I went to take my brother in-law for a ride to see if he wanted to get some for his ex. While we were driving I got on it a few times and it made him want to go drive his car. My car is a stock 91 STD with a dx 5 speed and a dx ecu, also 2.25" exhaust from the manifold back. When we pull up to his drive way he says "now I feel like driving my car, wanna go for a ride?" So I say "How about we just race?" :naughty: He says okay, both knowing who was going to win. His car is all stock except a short ram intake.

So we go about a block away from his house where there is a long straight road with no crossing intersections. We both line up and we decide that I will honk 3 times to start us. So we get ready and I honk and got so confused that I honked 4 times and started late then screwed up going into 2nd. He won by like 7 cars. I finally get to the turn around spot and he asked what happend because he could tell I messed up. I told him and then we decided to go again. We line up this time and I just tell him we'll go on 3. So 1....2....3! we're off I jump a half car on him instantly, by the end of 1st he's even with me and halfway through 2nd he's almost a full car. By 70 he's like 2 1/2 cars. So we stop next to each other and he tells me he got a bad start but it was a good race. Then a car was coming so I pulled off and he was behind me. Then he pulled up next to me and we talk for a minute and there is another stretch before his street so I say lets go again. We once again go on 3 and we stay even till he shifts out of 1st (because he was smoking the tires the whole time), he barks into second and I do as well quick after, this time by like 63 he was atleast 3 cars ahead.

Any ways just thought I would share since I don't race from a dig often.

cliff notes: I got my ass handed to me (expectedly) 3 times in a row.

Good races. I prefer my races from a dig because from a roll it can get way too fast way too quick. Last race on the highway I raced an SN95 5.0 (94-95) and beat him by a car at 135 mph :eek:
Started from 60-70mph and had half a car on him until 130 when I pulled another half and he shut off.

Yeah most of he races I get around here are Ricer that just fly past to get you to notice them. The best race I've had was a early 80's BMW, it was from a 50mph roll up to about 80, but I won by half a car. Most of the cars in my town are either way to fast for my car right now or slower than hell. Lots of riced out honda's. Makes me mad to see. We'll see whats up after the motor swap & turbo.
