hey all, worked on a VA state troopers camaro interceptor today, thought yall might be interested in teh specs from her.
driver and passenger airbags, CD playing stereo, cloth interior, RS exterior, 5.7L LS1, 4 speed auto, posi rear with 3.23 gears, 4 wheel disk brakes, power adjusting driver seat, aluminum driveshaft, A/C, 245/50ZR16 Goodyear Eagle RS-A standard Z28 Delphi shocks.
i also looked all over for mods, found cross drilled and slotted front rotors, a K&N air filter, and cant verify, but definately felt like it had a reprogramed trans and possibly engine perameters. ive driven every camaro built by gm, and this one definately felt more agressive than any stock car i have driven. including SS's.

CD playing stereo.
i'm not sure if all police cars have stereos but why would a cop need a cd player? don't they have to listen to their radio? or did they just not take it out when converting it?

well, often times the police car is their personal car as well. i mean what are they supposed to do in the off duty hours?? they are human too after all :) personally i think its awesome, these cars are such a bargan at auction. i hope i have the money when these 2002 B4C's go up for auction. ill keep my third gen, but one of these would be bad ass to have.

Texas DPS troopers roll hard...... :) Since Texas has the fastest street cars, we also need the fastest cops.

yeah, us slow poke virginians, dont need them there roll bars :) we mostly got the import wannabe crowd here. i could hold my own in my 1977 olds Delta 88 round here :) but black97, thats sweet that camaro has the anaversary badges on the dash too :) oh and get this, i got a free set of "slightly used" goodyear eagles off that interceptor, they had all new tires put on, and the old ones had at least a good 8 or 10 thousand miles em. maybe as long as 15 if i behave myself. and they the same size as my IROC needs :) aint life swell ;) i mean dont get me wrong, i dont advocate useing used tires. but shit, ive just dumped a good 4k into parts for the IROC that i need to get it running and pass VA inspection. so i dont have the 900 bucks for new tires, so ill take what i can get, ya know? they certainly better than the wal mart specials that are on there now.

Nothin better than free stuff. I wouldn't complain either..especialy if they still had decent tread left. I'd probably piss myself if I had to buy new tires right now. I'd be walking to work.

hey 89IROC&RS where in Virginia are you from? Im in the New Kent/Mechanicsville area. And I agree, VA is mostly associoted (sp?) with ricers, V6 F-Bods and Mustangs, and Trucks. BTW i also heard that VA troopers (atleast Richmond) switch drivers for the Z28 every 2 weeks or something like that.

I ran my car at the will county sherrifs challenge at Joliet IL. They accually run police cars down the track. Different police departments from around IL. are invited. There where quite a few z's there. I got to meet one of the state troopers from district 8. We ran side by side his 02 camaro agenst my GN. I ran a [email protected] and he ran a 13.9@101 MPH. After the race he drove up to my pit area with another cop buddy with him and they came up to me and handed me a ticket for embarssing an officer of the LAW..
