1994 mercury tracer lts wont start

My car wouldnt start today, tried to jump start it and did not work. All the electricals turn on, and the car makes a single click noise. I think it is the starter but i am not certain. Any ideas??!?!?

I have a 94 Tracer, and mine wouldn't start either. The problem was solved after I replaced my timing belt - it started when I was driving down the road and suddenly my car just shut off. I don't know if that's the same problem ya'll are having, but thats what fixed mine.

Did anyone check the battery cables or check to see if the altenator was good ?
