Frozen shifter!! Help!

My 1993 G20 is currently stuck. The car will start fine, and everything inside of it will work, lights, moonroof, etc....but the shifter will not shift from 'Park'. The button on the shifter will only go in about half way, and even then, the shifter refuses to move. This is on an automatic by the way. Has anyone had this same problem? I have tried everything! I desperately need this fixed, as the car wont budge!

did you put your foot on the brake? lol

maybe something came loose and the car doesnt think you're putting your foot on the brake... which dissengages the shift lock

Had this problem before on wife's car.

The button would only go half in/wont move etc etc.

I found that i squirted some CRC around and inside the button and it's been fine ever since.
