My 2002 I35 luxury came with a leather wrapped shift knob but I prefer the woodtone one from the sport model. Dealer says not available. Cannot find OEM. Anyone know where, how much and what is involved to change?

Well, I would just go find an aftermarket shifter, a more exciting and prettier one since this guy at the dealership sounds like an ass ... you can find shifters (with the turbo button) from probably $30 on the low end, to about $99 on the high end. Cattman.com has a few shifters, i might get that black one :naughty:

They are telling you a fat one. The wood kit is available. Its expensive, but available. I have a 2002 I35 base model and wanted to get the wood kit that goes around the gear gate and the ashtray. (that would run me $500.) You can get a wood steering wheel for about a few hundred dollars, and the gear knob for about $200. If you like the wood kit in the car, you can get it for about $900. Its better to just get the base model.

Don't know about the shifter knob thing but I do know about the wood accent trim pieces. I put a nice 25-piece set in a Toyota Avalon a few years back. Got it from an aftermarket supplier at about 1/3 the price of the dealer items. I'm pretty sure they make them for the Infiniti cars and they'll be much cheaper than anything the dealer would offer.
Dealer=High Price. Aftermarket vendor=Much lower price and very good quality. :iceslolan
