It is a 97 escort 4 door automatic green!

They Want to sell it pretty cheap..$800.00.
She say she still drives it to work just about every day..but on occassion..once a month..it chugs like it wants to shut off...she lets up off the accelerator and they it resumes as normal...not every day..not every week..just on occassion...She say she has taken it to several mechanics and they have even hooked it up on machines..with no luck..she say no one can diagnose the problem..

She has driven it back and forth to school since new..it has 190,000 miles on it..but she say it drives good except for that occassional problem!..

what could that problem be..or any thoughts or suggestions as to what i should look at when looking over the car tomorrow evening? thanks

If you haven't already, I think I would walk away.
Yep, its cheap, but with 190,000 it probably has something serious wrong with it.
Problems that come and go can be tough to find, and expensive.

Hmm, 1997...Are you going to strip it down and pump it up or you going to joy ride it? or is it needed to be a reliable transportation car?

Any car thats worth 10 grand and has manufactors warrenty still on is totally worth it, but a car that is over 190,000...and as young as its is....my 1993 is just below 120,000. If you really want it.... i get it inspected, and find out whats anything thats wrong with it...Ask what kind of maintaince she done on the car... If none, then the car will have potential problems with brakes(worn to the bone), springs, struts, oil leaks or burning, and engine.

Ask her if she have done her 3 months or 3,000 miles oil change, and car check up....

I have a red 97 sport two words on the chugging. Fuel filter or pump.Tune up completely. 800 bucks is a great price for the little car but I guarantee you will put another 1,500 into it before you sell it for 800 bucks. I would keep looking.
