As one of AF's newest newbies, I have a lot of questions. But what I'm doing is reading the FAQ and testing the 'proven' ways of the vets here.

So, I busted out this 67 Plymouth GTX. I just got through painting it exactly as described in the Another......"HOW TO" prepare a body for primming and painting thread. (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&postid=547069&t=9066#post547069) by the PMan.

It went well. I'm painting her (code name: Robin), Testors 1813 - Black Pearl.

I am expecting the compound and the wax in the post any day now and will finish the finish then.

Nice Shine! Does it give out a nice pearl effect?

It's a beautiful color paint. It has the finest flakes I've ever seen in paint. I think it has a nice pearl feeling...I would love my car to be this black pearl color.

I need a better camera :iceslolan

Thanks,

niice. I want to build this car, but I've only built 2 dodges so far, my 330 with the hemi, and the stealth RT TT while I'm waiting for my skyline to finish airing out before I wax it.

Cool man, what interior/engine combo you going to do? If I understood correctly this kit comes with 2 engines? A hemi and a Magnum??

I would love to see the RT. Do you have any photos or a link you could share?

The interior has 2 versions, stock and street. I am going to use the street version. The original car came with 2 engines, the 'Super Commando 440' and the 'Hemi 426', the kit comes with just one engine but has 2 exhausts setups. 'H' pipes going into 'Flowmaster 40s' for the stock setup and the street headers with nothing aft of the collector. I'm going to mix it up here and use the 'H' pipe setup. I was also thinking of lowering it because it would make one hellified lowrider.

hahah!

Coming to an AF page near you soon!

Didn't know the older issue came with two engines. I have both the stock car and the Sox & Martin SS car. According the instructions there was only one build.. in the 1:1 car description they list a "Super Commando 400" and "426 Hemi."

Well, I have to go get me some black pearl paint! :D Any more pictures?

Thanks to all that replied. I'm starting to put it together now. Robin is beginning to look like a car :)

This kit is starting to piss me off. More than one reason too. Revell gets a D- for this POS kit.

Revell attaches the chrome peices to the tree ONLY in places that will be visiable when you cut them off. Does anyone at Revell ever build a model? They've been around long enough to KNOW BETTER!

Revell could clean the mold ONCE A YEAR! so that the whole chrome peice doesn't have an edge that you have to trim and then paint.

The fit and finish bites big ones. Both front and rear bumper have no place to glue onto. Which means it gets glued onto any couple places that are touching. In this case, it's MY BEAUTIFUL PAINT JOB! Not to mention that once on, they are not aligned correctly.

The exhaust has to be cut to fit into the model. The pipes do not line up with headers.

The car has 2 parts left over (#131 and #142) that are listed nowhere in the instructions. I don't know wtf they are or where they go.

The decals suck at best. I put 2 on, 2 fell off. I used paint instead.

I'm not happy. I put a lot of work into this model and the last parts just makes me want to step on it and go shoot something furry.

Robin will get parked in a spot that noone can see it.
