here is my custom toyota supra, started out as F&F supra, heres what i did to it.
cut out front bumper to wide mouth, made custom body kit, wing from F&F eclipse, underbody neons, seat from integra with ribbon seat belts, nitrous, stereo system, 20" wheels, custom opening hatch with 6x9 speaker system, flat screen tv, ps2, tv on console with finding nemo on it lol, flocked interior, and i think that pretty much sums it up color was a custom 2 coat job, started with krylon cherry red, then painted stain glass red over and made black cherry, hope u like let me know what u think.http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/131681supra2-med.jpg

How about some larger and clearer pictures. Most of those are a little out of focus. WOuld love to see some close up shots of the interior.

Love the PS2 ;) Keep up the good work and may be a How-To on underbody Neons!

for one the paint dosent match on differnt panels, nor did you paint the sides of the hood :nono: . but i am not doubting that it won a contest. i think you did an awsome job everywhere else on the car..

p.s. sorry my spelling is so bad today.

dont get me wrong, nice custom work, but i guess its just the bad quality. BTW, wtf is that white thing where the exhaust is supposed to be?? did you try to chop the photo or something?

yea i guess now i could see what u mean by a couple flaws pointed out, but thanks for the constructive criticism, and its just the exhaust with a hellacious glare, lol, btw one reason for there being a few flaws might have been because in the type of contest we did, every contestant starts on the same day, and u end on the same day(3 week period), thanks tho

I see what all of you missed. it has no tail lamps! looks ok, front is too high, 20's on supra?? bad enough people put 19''s on them.

i did see a few areas that i missed but one it does have taillights i dont know how u missed that one, and the car sits completely level, and yea at first i thought 20's on the supra was kinda ghetto funny myself, but they fit in under the fenders perfectly

Hard to make a critical judgement call since most the photo's are blurry, but from what i could see this model looks like its been rushed, i can see white primer in the bonnet, looks like you sprayed the top and didnt spray underneath plus the paintwork seems patchy, tail lights are missing or unpainted, the concept of this model is good but the execution is a little rough around the edges.

keep in mind i had exactly, and no more or less then 3 weeks to complete this. that was the rule of the contest

What did you win? .....A can of primer? J/K
honnestly, the color looks uneven. maybe the pictures but the white lines around the panel lines and edges of the body look seriously uneven.
Very inventive with the sound system and ps2.

yea the color is honestly a lil uneven, but it was kinda experimental, normal paint with stain glass paint on top of it made for a weird coating, and in person it looks different in some light it looks cool and in others looks like crap

Why not paint the black surrounds on the windows? And what's with that gap from the boot lid to the body?

3 weeks can be more than enough to build a masterpiece, so time shouldn't really be used as an excuse.

Maybe some photos in different light then, please?

keep in mind i had exactly, and no more or less then 3 weeks to complete this. that was the rule of the contest

3 weeks is tons and tons of time to build a kit. i did a 24hr build of a tamiya R33 skyline (still slept as well) and it came out looking great. and it was modified. i think that you might just have to sit down and plan your projects a little more. now tamiya do plenty of clear red paints that are a lot more stable than glass paint and cheaper too. look up my recent built Ferrari 360 modena. that took about 5 days and was a super detailed kit, with a gold base and 4 coats of clear red. its all about using the right materials and the amt kit will always limit your ability to make a great kit. i even own one myself and just looking at the state of the kit i just put it high on a shelf to be scrapped for parts.
so why not go get a decent tamiya kit. buy the correct paints and just take your time planning. and do less to a car until your scratch building becomes a little better.

plus here is a little idea that could have made your ps2 a little neater. find a side on picture of one from the sony web site, then resize it photo software then print it out and stick it onto the plasic scale model of it!

Interesting car. And finally someone with a worse camera than me! YAY! jk bro :) Lots of good advice and hints from this thread like taking your time and stealing graphics from websites :) Rock on!

I would try going outside in the day time with your model and camera. Don't set up in direct sun light, and take your pictures. I hardly ever get a decent picture indoors, but I can take pretty sharp pictures for a 2MP camera outdoors. And 3 weeks is plenty of time for some, and not near enough for others. Depends on how much time you have. I take around 3 months to do a model anymore because of being at the station a lot and such. I can do a decent paint job with clear coat, polish, and wax in about 4-5 days though. that's spending maybe 10 minutes a day with the body, using lacquers, and waiting what I find to be ample drying time. That leaves plenty of time for the interior and such.
