Im putting a 12:1 ratio FMU on my peice of shit civic engine, now do i have to upgrade my wires so that they can spark harder to light the extra fuel?
reason i was asking was cause one of my friends put a higher flow fuel pump on and his car would die along side the road,he said he bought bigger milimeter wires to fix this problem so his plugs would spark better

stock wires should work fine. people i know that are using an fmu on their turbo kits dont have any of their ignition upgraded. don't know exactly how well their cars are running, but seems to run fine

is your engine otherwise stock? why on earth would you want to dump tons of fuel into it? please tell me you have a turbo, otherwise drop this idea and spare yourself. YOU DO NOT NEED EXTRA FUEL UNLESS YOU HAVE THE EXTRA AIR TO SUPPORT IT

So lets say you have intake, exhaust, headers etc., what kind of a range in performance increase could you expect from upgrading the pump?

Well Im getting parts as i can get them right now,i want to put an h22a in my civic if its possible, and then put a turbo kit on that.
the only thing i have on my engine is an intake and and cheap apc exhaust.
I have a cf hood mugen, coilovers and a complete camber correction kit from spc.

none at all, your factory pump is more than capable of sending enough fuel for those mods
Blueburr: you don't need an FMU until you get that turbo and even then I would advise against it and tell you to go with a Hondata unit.

Well I realize it might be capable of delivering enough fuel, but if the car is getting more air and you upgrade the fuel I didn't think there would be no gain at all, that surprises me.

the thing is, you don't need any fuel upgrades until you actually need it. Otherwise you're just blowing money on shit you don't need. You need some kind of FI or nitrous or some insane NA tuning to get to the point where you would need fuel upgrades.
