Anyone know if any of the HSX other than the one in the brochure were made and sold? Was it really a "one-off" version just for magazine pictures and car shows?
thanks!
edit: the reason i bring it up:
I have the opportunity to buy (i touched and inspected the car in person this afternoon) a complete JDM front clip from an importer which happens to have a white leather interior, red paint, HSX emblems, and odometer reads 4,000km = around 2,700 miles.
I personally believe this is the prototype which was unveiled at auto shows and the same car in the first brochures and was written about in the 1990 Motor Trend. That you can see here:

The dash is identical- everything is identical- everything points to this clip being the car pictured. Unbelievable.
Why it was chopped in half and shipped to the U.S.?! And not sitting in a Mitsubishi museum of sorts....you got me
thanks!
