i am looking to buy my first real car and i have a few questions.

1. what kind of gas milage am i looking at with a 454?

2. what kinda 1/4 mile times could i get with a stock chevelle ss 454 with an extra grand in upgrades?

3. i hear DSMs arent very relialable if moded out, would a mid 12 second dsm be a reliable daily driver?

4. would the chevelle be a reliable daily driver?

1.The gas milage is gonna be Insane. My bros 350 is a gas hog. He gets like 10-11 miles to the gallon

2. In a 1/4 im gonna say 11-12? depends on what your gonna spend that grand on

3. Never looked into DSM's so i wouldnt know.

4. In my honest opinion, i think its not for daily driving. Maybe if its just around town. But if i had a 454 i would save it strictly for the track ;)

1. like said above, its a 454, if your woried about gas mileage, your looking at the wrong car, it would be like maybe 10mpg on the highway, if you baby it.

2. also liek said above, 11-12, a grand isnt a whole heck of alot. but it all depends on what you spend it on

3. anything modded can be reliable if you want it to be. if you put the extra money into not only performance parts, but durable parts, and dont push things to the limit Ex: pushing a 500ft lb rated tranny at 499ft lb of torque, it should be a problem.

4. they arent exacally an easy find. and for a daily driver, in a year youll have paid as much in gas, as you would have with the DSM in like 10 years, depending on mods. i wouldnt drive one daily, simply because its just not made for that sort of thing. plus the value is only going up on a car like that. and the more mileage, the less its worth
