My rear window is constantly making squeaking noises. It occurs during warm and cold months as well as wet and dry days? Has anyone else experienced this problem with their Jimmy? Mine is a 2000 2DR with the wheel mounted on the back. Any help is appreciated.

I used white lithium grease in a spray can. Works great. I have to reaply every 3 months. Spray it on all latches, hinges, and bottom weather seal. If your spare is on the hatch also spray the rubber stopper on the spare tire swing arm.

My squeak occurred when the shock arm went bad on one side of the window...I had tried lithium grease on the hinges and it didn't eliminate the sound...
Bought one shock arm to replace the squeaky one, found the other side was shot too...should probably replace them in pairs.

The latch needs to be adjusted to hold the window more tightly closed. A simple test to prove it is to hold several thicknesses of thick paper or aluminum foil (gum wrappers work) in the latch when you close it. If the noise goes away, you found the problem.
You might also be getting squeak from the spare tire on back. There is a small rubber bumper on the spare tire rack that presses against the rear hatch to hold it tight. This bumber is on a threaded stem that can be adjusted to make it fit tighter.

hey there... i bought a 2dr 2000 jimmy a year ago and about 2 months after i bought it the same thing happened... i lubricated any and every accessable hing, wear point, etc tightened the window latch removed the air rams and and the squeak wouldnt go away...
finally i popped off the interior panel and found metal plate on the inside with about 8 screws in it, half of which were loose. tightened them up and haven't had a problem with the squeaking since.. In all the process only took about 20 minutes.
just be careful taking off the plastic paneling i broke one or two of the snaps on mine by being a little too forceful.
