Passat Wagon read windshield wiper fluid

My wife has a 1999 Passat wagon we got from my father. The rear windshield wiper no longer dispenses fluid for cleaning the windshield. I was not sure if that wiper got the fluid from the main windshield wiper fluid container in the front of the car, or if there was another place to fill it up for the rear windshield wiper (my wife's previous car, a Subaru, had its own container in the back for that wiper). I have looked all over, but have not found an answer for this.

If it does not have its own container, then the rear wiper does not dispense fluid anymore. Any suggestions for getting it to work again?
