Here's what I just found out regarding my springs from UPS:
Mar 3, 2004
http://wwwapps.ups.com/img/1.gif 1:23 P.M.
http://wwwapps.ups.com/img/1.gif JACKSONVILLE, NC, US
http://wwwapps.ups.com/img/1.gif CORRECT STREET # NEEDED, NOT DELIVERED
I gave the guy Louis/Derrick my correct mailing address and somehow or another he still screwed it up, so it looks like I might have to wait another century to get my springs.
I emailed UPS to ask them if there was anything that they can do about it but I haven't heard anything yet. I'll give the guy some credit at least he did try to send them.
Again, I'll keep you guys posted.

Well here's the latest and greatest=FINALLY I GOT MY SPRINGS!!! Whooowhoo.
I emailed UPS last night and they called me this morning on my cell and said that they would be waiting for me when I got home.
I took a pic of them with my phonecam and I will try to post it later, I had to take a pic because I couldn't believe that I received them.
Thanks Pete for all the help
After this GD experience though, I don't think that I will be participating in anymore GD's.

Foshizzle, mynizzle. My neighbor is going to hook me up Sunday, I'm going to get my rims off my 2k and put em on it, I need a new digicam so that I can post some quality pics.
Tomorrow I'll take some pics of the wheelgap before and after the springs are on I'll take a pic of the wheelwell after the drop. I wish I had more time in the day, I would've gotten my windows tinted. I'm working this weekend so I don't have time to get the car in before the tint shopz closes.

Sorry about the link, I was trying to find a free host that last longer than 24 hours or 30 days to put my pics on the board.
I guess I'm gonna have to do a cardomain page when I get my car hooked up the way I want it.

Haven't decided on the shocks yet, I was leaning more towards GR2's.

would gr2s hold up with that drop? maybe it's different with the 5th Gens but on 4th gens, gr-2s with anything lower than a 1.5 drop is a nono :nono:

Not sure but from what I've seen that seems to be the norm once someone has put their teins on. What do you suggest for shocks?
Illuminas? Can anybody recommend anything in shocks that is close to the stock ride but can handle the car being dumped that much lower.

What's the best price for the KYB or Illuminas ? $438 is a bit much. That's good bk2 about you getting the springs. I'm going with 19" wheels ,but haven't purchased them yet. Trying decide which shocks to purchase.

19" what Moe? In other words, what kinda rims are you getting.
Try and stay away from chrome, even though it looks good, they are heavy.

My bad. The wheels are 18" chrome. Voxx is the maker. Scorze is the name of the wheel. They come in black ,silver, or chrome. The chrome wheel is a little high. I haven't seen this wheel on any car in this area. After the wheels, shocks ,and tires are installed it's time for a upgrade in the music department. Check those wheels out at discount tire .com . You are right about chrome wheels being heavy. We installed a set of aftermarket shocks on our truck. It came with 20's chrome . I thought , No problem , about being able to just lift them up a just manhandle them around the garage. Wrong . They are heavier than what I thought.

damn i just spent the whole day installing my friend's and my suspension and damn it feels good. we both have 4th Gens and we both got Tein S. Tech with Illumina shocks and wat a difference~! the handling is so much more responsive but the ride is a bit bumpy but bearable. It should settle down a bit more then I'll be happier. Let me know when you guys get your suspension in.

Man, my neighbor didn't have a spring compressor but one of other homies got one, so I'll probably have to hit him up this weekend.
That is how the whole thing with the floor mats started, I was going to put the springs in and he realized that he didn't have a spring compressor, so we ended up making floor mats.
Funny how things work out.

why didn't you just rent one at an auto parts store? that's what we did. But good thing you just didn't do it anyway. That'd be plain stupidiy.

oh yeah, i forgot but I finally dropped my car with my Teins. It's been about a full week and the handling is very well improved. I would recommend everyone to get shocks even if they're not dropped because it handles so much better. But the ride quality is bad. I get annoyed sometimes of so much rattling in my car and the car bouncing everywhere. I guess it's worth the sacrifice but at least the car looks a lot more aggressive. Click on my www down below to see more pics of my new drop. There's one there in my sig that you already see so...Well, when you guys get pics, post them up so we all can see. Laters.

With The Illuminas, can't you change the ride setting from 1-5? And If so; how does it ride on the most comfortable setting? I'm thinking about getting Some springs and Illuminas.

yes you can put them on the softest setting but then the ride would be bouncy instead of a hard hit. So it's best when you even it out. Right now I have mine set on, 2 front and 3 rear.

yeah my car isn't that low. there's still a 3 finger gap in the front and a 4 finger gap in the back.

Do you have to Jack the car up to change the settings or can you do it while it is resting on the ground?
RBCxPeTeRxEaTeR
03-29-2004, 05:02 PM
You can just adjust while on the ground. All you need to do is raise the hood, get a small flathead screwdriver and turn the knob.

I don't want to rent what I can get for free, besides we used all of the one day we had hooking up his truck and cleaning his yard and then we did the floormats. Lately, I haven't had any time at all to put the springs on, I'm so pissed but I'm trying to make it happen on Wednesday or Thursday afternoon with my boi who has the spring compressor because my neighbor is too busy, sanding down his truck to paint it to help me out with the springs, so I'm going to try and take off from work on Thursday and get it done. I'm just tired of them sitting around the house. Hopefully I'll be able to get some pics after the drop. Here are a few before the drop and I will post an after the drop pics once I get my springs on: http://img31.photobucket.com/albums/v92/bk2k3max/wheelgap2.jpg http://img31.photobucket.com/albums/v92/bk2k3max/wheelgap1.jpg
