I just got a 94 Honda Civic EX Coupe and want to make it perform very well. I dont know what to do first to the engine and was wondering what everyone thought. All tips welcome. Thanks.

I would start out with I/H/E Intake, Header and exhaust. That will get you going with the basic bolt ons. Then if you want it to perform well you can work on the suspension. Tell me what you want to be doing with the car, If you would like to make it run quick in the quarter mile, or will it be a road race car. tell me that and we will go from there.

depending on your goals, I/H/E can be a huge waste of a good chunk of change. If you have plans for turbo in the future, don't even bother. Just start saving and work on other aspects of your car. If you don't have any major plans for the future, I/H/E is an excellent start, minimal gains for the amount you put down, but there is no better place to start.

What type and/or brand suspention would be the best. Also what would be good for a buget.

With the I/H/E, which would be the best for the money and for speed.

Thanks.

I think im in the same boat as you. im young, with not much money, and a civic. i decided i like roadracing and autocross, so i went with a new suspension, tein ss coilovers. im really happy with my decision, but they are right, figure out what u want to do. i got new wheels and tires, much lighter and better.

am no car expert but ive always been told by some friends that go with suspensions first. with brands...i have no clue. am hearing good feedbacks from tein, tokico, eibach though...again...i am not that 100% sure about that...just feedbacks.

ive read in AF that AEM for CAI, DC for headers, dunno about the exhuast though...HKS or greddy i guess.

I/H/E costs $100 per horsepower. A supercharger costs $50 per horsepower.

I just got a '93 Civic EX Vtec. My car is fast and all..but its not what I hoped a Vtec would be. Its a 1.6L.

I'm soon getting a new intake, but is there anything else I can do to help boost it a little? What about those racing chips?

Any suggestions are appreciated...thanks.
