reverse lights

i have reverse lights on a 1993 cutlass sup that have a mind of their own. When i place the car in reverse if i jiggle the shift they come on and sometimes go off. I have just recently changed the turnsignal switch to fix no brakelights and have everything running fine but reverse lights. Can anyone give me insight as to where any controls/wires/relays may be. Thanks.
