Locking hood?

I know this is a crazy question. I opened up the hood today and it won't lock back. THe latches on the side are locked but the hood isn't really lock. I don't want to slam it down because it seems as if somthing is preventing it from locking properly. Any help is appreciated

just wasan't slamming the hood down hard enough
