I'm new to this forum and glad to be back in a "stang" ( Its been 20 yrs at least, When I was in my late teens I had "67FB, 68 GT FB, 70 NB and a 72 NB".
I just bought a "94" V6 Auto "Blah" in the spring, $2000. seemed like a good deal! And yes I know these V6 ers SUCK!!! Head gaskets are going and blew the AOD in the last Nor'easter, Man this car sucks in the snow LOL. Any way my intentions where and now are to dump a V8 in it!! "Psss dont tell the wife" he he he :evillol: I was thinking of a 347 and wanted to know if the AOD could be rebuilt to stand up to it or should I go with C4,C6 ? I also wanted to know what would be a good cam for this motor, I plan on driving it every day, "excecpt when the snow flys" . Also I may put a NOS system in the future :screwy:
P.S. A lot of guys are telling me to go carb , and I'd like to keep it EFI Whats your take on this!! :banghead: :feedback:

i can't offer you much advice in this area. a 347 would be cool, and you can probably rebuild that AOD for that much power (how much are we talking about here?) personally, i'm putting a 351W together, which will be bored and stroked to 408. and it's getting EFI, probably the CHP Super Spyder. i'm also putting a t56 behind it. i like EFI because of the fact that it tunes itself. that makes it worth all the extra work and such. and there really isn't too much more work anyway. cam doesn't matter that much as long as it breathes good for whatever heads you use. good luck tho, and we won't tell your wife =D

Whats up? Glad you could join us. The V8 is a must and it just gets better after that. Check out my setup, close to what you described.

Yea an AOD can definetly be built to handle that. The only thing is a well built AOD cost more than an equal C4 or C6. But the OD band does make for the better highway/gas mileage car.

Came selection will really depend on what heads, intake, CR etc.., you decide. Yea you can just get a general cam that works for what you doing. But being a lil more picky can pay off huge.

FI or Carb. Either is fine FI is more money to set-up and get to run properly but will in the end make more power. Carb set-up will be cheaper and can run decently easier and quicker but will never be as efficient

Just remember that you are going to have to do a lot more work then just slap a motor in that car. Such as driveline, rearend, fuel system, computer, wiring harness, motor mounts, suspension, brakes etc. Going carb would be easier to set up then EFI, but I doubt you will pass any emissions like that. AOD's can be built to be pretty damn stout, so can't AOD-E's, which is in your car. If your looking to spend some cash on an automatic, look into Lentech or Artcar trannys. They are pretty much unbreakable.

for the motor, check out badasscars.com
they built my killer 347, and even though they have more experience with carbs, did a great job on my efi setup.
coast high performance is supposed to be good too.
both can help with cam selection. unless you keep the nos to a low level (100hp or less) you will need to do some serious reworking of the fuel system and may need a new cam to get the most from the nos.
sounds like you have your work cut out for you!
have fun and rock on.

Don't ever buy a Nitrous cam for a street car. A nitrous cam that drops ET's on the 1/4 mile with nitrous is a dog when N/A. You'll be much happpier with a higher ET's but way more N/A performance.

I can back this up, for the most part. I presently run a Comp nitrous cam. Naturally aspirated it is decent. Nothing great but it does perform well, I run consistant 12.4-12.5s. On the bottle it is the best I've found, so far. A Lunadi custom nitrous grind will soon replace it. But I do like this cam even thouth it's in my daily driver.

I have a rearend and suspension and fuel system from the same guy I'm buying the motor from. I will need to find wiring harness and computer though! :1zhelp:
